Back to So'ton!

After a lot of messing around, I have finally sorted out my journalism work experience. I'll be going back to my university town, Southampton. I didn't want to go at first because I split from my long-term boyfriend 6 months ago and he still lives down there, but now I'm quite looking forward to it. Half (no three quarters!) of me wants to forget the past and get on with my future and the other quarter is dreading bumping into my ex. Who cares if I do? I've got a new life now.
There were a few options for my work experience - Nottingham, Oxford and Leicester - and to be honest I was avoiding going back to So'ton, but all the other papers are full so I had no choice but to contact the Southampton paper. May it's meant to be. I'm ready to face my past now perhaps?
I haven't been back there since June and I'll hopefully be staying with one of my past housemates, which should be good fun.

It's all good!

great times!

I've just had one of the best weekends I can remember for a very long time! I went to London with a load of other people on the course to watch our course football team trash City University 3-0 in a annual football match. Cardiff Uni journalism course and City's course are the top 2 in the country - I'm not sure who is the best - and the 2 courses go head-to-head every year. cardiff has had the title for 3 years. Our team made it the 4th!

I've never been to a football match before, but it was great. Afterwards we all went out in Camden and then got on the bus back to Cardiff at 11pm. I wasn't in bed until 4.30am but it was worth it

sorry, been busy!

It has been ages since I sat down and gave you an update of my life, so here it is.

We're coming to the end of our production days now - we've been making a fictional newspaper twice a week for the past 7 weeks. It's been really great. We find our own stories and try to beat the local newspaper to stories.

I was Chief subeditor on Friday, which basically means I was in charge of the whole production side of the newspaper and which story goes where in the newspaper. I got to choose the front page story and everything! It's nice having a sense of authority!

The other week I was arts editor - I was in charge of our friday arts supplement and what goes into it. We did a healthy living theme, which was really good. It's nice having some responsibility and succeeding!

Now, Char and Lil... I know you're probably itching to hear about my love life! But there really isn't that much going on. All the guys I flirt with are taken or don't have an interest in a relationship. It's still fun trying though. I don't really want a boyfriend at the moment anyway. I'm having fun being free and single!
